The deposit, the card and what you actually pay
The deposit is the thing that catches people out
A security deposit is held against a credit card when you collect the car, starting at USD 1,500 and rising for the larger SUV classes. It is a hold rather than a payment, and it is released after the car comes back. We publish it here because arriving at a counter after a long flight and discovering it is the worst possible moment to find out.
It has to be a credit card
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club. The card must be in the main driver's name and the driver must be present with it. We cannot take cash for the deposit, and a debit card will not hold the amount reliably.
What the rental price includes
Every rental includes unlimited mileage. The daily rate covers the vehicle. Saint Lucia's country tax of 12.5 percent applies. Insurance, the driving permit at USD 23, an additional driver at USD 10 per day and a young driver charge at USD 10 per day where it applies are shown separately so you can see what you are choosing.
Young drivers
Online reservations are available to drivers aged 21 and older. Drivers aged 21 to 24 pay a young driver charge of USD 10 per day. The charge is shown in the booking flow rather than appearing as a surprise at the counter.
